The hand-ground plumbic crystal, made by our company J. Blažek Sklo Poděbrady, originates from the hand-grinding tradition in Bohemia. Czech glass, under its trading name of Bohemia Crystal, has become widely-known by many customers world-wide.

The satisfy the current modern trends and tastes of our customers, we use the traditional method to produce new, original decors, created by our designer, Mrs Zuzana Jelínková. In her designs, she makes use of her more than 25-year experience, as well as her extraordinary creativity.

J. Blažek company closely co-operates with other glass artists, and therefore, our sortiment is extended through engraved, rounded and squared glass. Our artists transfer reproductions of paintings and photographs onto glass and decorate it with gold and even enamel. We hope that this high artistic standard will appeal to you, together with the professional craftmanship of our cutters, engravers, rounders and artists, whose artistry materializes the artistic design into the fragile beauty of our products.
Although we offer a wide range of products originating from the Czech decorated glass tradition, should you not choose out of our standard range, we are flexible enough to react to your individual requirements.
For more than 10 years, we have been making special glass trophies not only for sports purposes, but also for company presentations. J. Blažek Sklo Poděbrady also made the original cups for the World women´s championships in Alpine disciplines held in December 2005 in Špindlerův Mlýn.

Our Company at Present

J. Blažek Sklo Poděbrady currently has seventy-five employees. Our turnover since 2002 has constantly reached over CZK 85 million per year. Our company has successfully got over the crisis period in years 1995 – 1999. Almost 95 per cent of our production is exported practicly all over the world. Company History

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let me provide some basic information about our company. The J. Blažek Sklo Poděbrady company is a glass business of the Blažek family. The tradition of our family´s seven generations is associated with glass production and decoration and goes back to 18th century. The original home manufacturing was changed in 1933 by my father, Josef Blažek, into a factory, first in Nový Bor and then in Poděbrady five years later.

In 1948, both factories were nationalized. 45 years later (in 1993) these glass businesses were given back to my sister Drahoslava and me. The tradition of hand-decorated glass made by J. Blažek company was renewed. This glass has in the past been appreciated worldwide for its quality and originality and I am sure that it will appeal to you as well.
